Due to the farmers' agitation in Punjab, there was a tremendous impact on the operation of trains. 91 mail and express trains were canceled and 43 passenger trains were canceled. Dozens of trains stayed at their place and many trains changed their routes, due to which the passengers had to face a lot of trouble. Due to the non-operation of the trains, the passengers were compelled to stop on the way and had to travel the distance from other sources. Indian Railways also suffered heavy losses.

Special Train for passengers

In Jalandhar, to ease the way for the passengers, the Railways had to operate a special train from Jalandhar Cantt to Bandra Terminus. The railways announced to run train number 02472/02471 as a special train on Wednesday to clear the rush. On 22nd December, at around 3.30 PM, this special train will leave from Jalandhar Cantt and will reach Bandra Terminus at 4:10 PM the next day. Taking about the returning direction, Train No. 02471, will run on December 24 from Bandra Terminus to Jalandhar Cantt.

Departure from Bandra Terminus at 11.00 AM and arrive at Jalandhar Cantt. at 11:10 AM the next day. Train No. 02472/02471 Jalandhar Cantt-Bandra Terminus-Jalandhar Cantt Reserved Special train en route Phagwara, Ludhiana, Ambala Cantt, Panipat, Sabzi Mandi (one way stop at 02472), New Delhi, Hazrat Nizamuddin (one way stop at 02471), It will halt at Mathura Junction, Sawai Madhopur, Kota Junction, Bhawani Mandi, Nagda Junction, Ratlam Junction, Meghnagar, Dahod, Godhra Junction, Vadodara Junction, Bharuch Junction, Surat, Vapi and Barauli station in both the directions.
