Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) has increased the price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) by Rs. 1.50 per kilogram and Piped Natural Gas (PNG) by Rs. 1 per unit.
These new rates will come into effect from midnight Tuesday. Consequently, consumers will now pay Rs. 75 per kilogram for CNG and Rs. 48 per unit for PNG.
Mahanagar Gas Ltd. (MGL) stated, 'Even after the above revisions, MGL's CNG prices in Mumbai are approximately 50% cheaper than petrol and 17% cheaper than diesel.'
The company added, 'Despite minor increases, MG's CNG and domestic PNG prices remain the lowest in the country.'
Before this, on June 22, Indraprastha Gas Limited had increased the prices of CNG in Delhi-NCR. Following this hike, the price of one kilogram of CNG in Delhi now stands at 75.09.
The impact of this increase is also being seen in Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad. In these cities, CNG was previously available at ₹78.70 per kilogram and has now increased to ₹79.70 per kilogram.
Indraprastha Gas Limited did not change the prices of PNG. Its rate remains at ₹48.59 per SCM (Standard Cubic Meter).
