Kerala Explosions: A tragic incident unfolded on Sunday morning in Kerala's Kalamassery, where three explosions at a convention center claimed the life of one woman and left 40 individuals injured, according to the police.

Among the injured, at least 10 people sustained burns covering more than 50 per cent of their bodies. In response to the incident, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has called for an all-party meeting at 10 am on Monday at the Secretariat.

He is expected to lead a high-level meeting to address the aftermath of the explosions.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has confirmed the unfortunate incident, reporting one fatality and two individuals in critical condition.

He stated, "We are in the process of gathering information about the incident. Senior officials in Ernakulam are actively involved, and we are treating this matter with utmost seriousness. I have personally spoken to the Director General of Police, and we will await further details as the investigation unfolds."

The explosions took place at a convention centre affiliated with a Christian organization. Simultaneously, a 4-member team from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) was swiftly dispatched to the location to conduct an inquiry in collaboration with the local police.

Additionally, an eight-member unit from the National Security Guard (NSG), led by an officer, is en route to Kerala to investigate the explosion.

It is anticipated that the NSG team will arrive at the site of the bomb blasts by Sunday evening.

Police reported that they were alerted to the explosion around 9 am. Footage of the incident depicted a substantial presence of fire rescue teams and law enforcement personnel working diligently to evacuate individuals from the location.

Health Minister's Urgent Call to Action Following Explosions

Disturbing visuals from inside the convention center showcased the hall consumed by multiple fires, while terrified individuals screamed in fear.

Following the explosion, hundreds of people were spotted outside the convention centre. An eyewitness recounted hearing the sound of three blasts.

Health Minister Veena George has issued a directive for all health workers, including doctors currently on leave, to return immediately.

She has also instructed the Directors of the Health Department and the Medical Education Department to ensure the best possible treatment for those injured in the Kalamassery explosion.
