Haryana Assembly Polls: Amid talks of an alliance with Congress, AAP has released its first list of candidates for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections. The list includes the names of 20 candidates.

The Aam Aadmi Party has fielded Bijender Hooda as its candidate from the Rohtak assembly seat. It’s worth noting that AAP and Congress are attempting to form an alliance to contest the elections together in Haryana, but various obstacles have been hindering the process.

Candidates Who Received Tickets

In its first list, AAP has fielded Gurpal Singh from Naraingarh, Indu Sharma from Bhiwani, Kuldeep Chikara from Bahadurgarh, Vikas Nehra from Meham, Happy Rania from Rania, Pawan Fauji from Uchana Kalan, Amandeep Jundla from Assandh, Narender Sharma from Pundri, Anurag Dhandha from Kalayat, Bittu Pehalwan from Samalkha, Kuldeep Gadrana from Dabwali, Ranbir Gulia from Badli, and Sonu Ahlawat Sheria from Beri. There are also a few other names that can be found in the list.

AAP and Congress to Contest Separately!

For your information, on Monday morning, AAP informed Congress that if a decision on the alliance was not made by the evening, AAP would release its candidate list.

It's clear that when no signals were received from Congress regarding the alliance, the Aam Aadmi Party went ahead and announced its candidates.

This has led to speculation that AAP and Congress may now contest the elections separately in the state.

Why Did the Talks Fail?

According to sources, the talks between AAP and Congress failed because the Aam Aadmi Party was demanding more than 10 seats, while Congress was unwilling to offer more than 3 seats.

Additionally, some grassroots leaders within Congress were advising against forming the alliance.

When Will the Elections Be Held?

Notably, the last date for filing nominations for the Haryana Assembly elections is September 12. The elections will be held in a single phase on October 5, and the vote counting will take place on October 8, alongside Jammu and Kashmir.
