An explosion took place on Thursday i.e. today at Gujarat Fluorochemicals Limited (GFL) of Ghoghamba in the Panchmahal district of Gujarat. At least three labourers are reported to have died in this blast while 15 people have been injured. Panchmahal police officials have informed that an explosion took place in the MPI-1 unit of the refrigerant manufacturing plant at around 10 am today. According to the police, this explosion was so strong that its sound was heard several kilometres away.
Search and rescue work is going on
The officer, who reached the spot to take stock of the search and rescue operations, said that three employees were killed and 15 to 16 others were injured in the fire after the explosion. At the same time, Panchmahal Superintendent of Police Leena Patil, while giving information about the whole matter, said that a chemical manufacturing plant of Gujarat Fluorochemicals Limited is located near Ranjitnagar village in Ghoghamba Taluka. In which there was a loud explosion around 10 in the morning. Search and rescue work is going on after the incident.
At the same time, the officer, who came to take stock of the situation, said that three employees have died in the fire after the explosion while 14 to 15 people have been scorched. All have been admitted to different hospitals. It is being told that many of the injured people have been badly scorched. At the same time, the work of searching for other people in the plant is going on. The fire has been brought under control for the time being.
