India has taken another step forward towards achieving its goal of becoming a developed nation. Soon, the country’s first air train will operate at Delhi Airport.
But do you know which countries around the world already have air train services? Today, we’ll tell you about the countries where people use air trains.
Indira Gandhi International Airport in the capital city of Delhi is not only one of the busiest and largest airports in India but also in the world.
Thousands of passengers depart from Delhi Airport every day, including a large number of international travelers who have connecting flights.
Currently, many of these passengers use road transport to travel between Terminal 1 and Terminals 2 or 3. However, in the near future, with the introduction of the air train, passengers will be able to move between terminals much more easily and conveniently.
The total length of the air train route will be 7.7 kilometers, with only four stops: Terminal 1, T2/T3, Aerocity, and Cargo City.
According to information, the project aims to be completed by the end of 2027. Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has already issued tenders for this project, and the bidding process is expected to start by October-November. The total cost of the entire project is estimated to be around ₹2,000 crores.
In the coming years, India will launch its first air train at Delhi Airport. It’s worth noting that several countries around the world already operate air trains, including China, New York, and Japan, among others.
