
Storm in Assam: Heavy devastation has been caused in Assam due to the storm. The rain accompanied by the typhoon in the summer season in the state is called 'Bordoisila' in which 23 people have died so far. PM Narendra Modi has also condoled the death of people due to rain and storm in Assam. Due to the heavy rains, 592 villages have been affected. Many districts of Assam have been receiving heavy rains for the last four days. More than one lakh people have been affected due to the heavy rains.
Heavy rain accompanied by lightning has caused huge destruction in the state. Heavy damage occurred in Goalpara, Barpeta, and Dibrugarh. Many trees were uprooted due to the wind. There are reports of houses falling in many districts. More than 12,000 houses and other buildings have been damaged due to the storm. The rain accompanied by thunderstorms in the summer season in the state is called 'Bordoisila'.
Apart from Assam, Nagaland and Meghalaya are also receiving heavy rains. About 200 houses have been damaged in Meghalaya due to heavy rains. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be heavy rain with strong winds for the next one or two days. Incessant rains have completely stopped the electricity service in many districts of Assam, which has increased the problems of the people.
Not only Assam but Mizoram has also been affected by the storm. Over 200 houses, including a church building, were damaged in the storm, which was accompanied by heavy rain and hailstorm, in the Kolasib and Mamit districts of Mizoram. However, no casualty has been reported so far in the storm in Mizoram. The storm had hit two districts of Mizoram late on Saturday night.
