Since quite some time, speculations were rife that the makers are planning the film's sequel, and had, in fact, had gone all the way to meet Irrfan abroad for the same. according to the latest report, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol are being considered to play the lead.

Earlier, it was reported that Irrfan Khan will return for the sequel and actress Sara Ali Khan will play his daughter. due to the actor's ill health, he is staying away from films at the moment.
