Two Sri Lankan players Dhananjaya Lakshan and Ishan Jayaratne tested positive for COVID-19. Both players are also in the provisional 28-man squad for the England tour next month. However, both have been quarantined for 14 days.
Meanwhile, the Sri Lankan team will play the limited-overs series against England in June. The team has to play a series of three ODIs and three T20 matches from June 23. Before that, the team has to visit Bangladesh on 16 May. The team will play in a three-match ODI series from May 23 to 28 in Dhaka. However, both these players not included in the team for the tour of Bangladesh.
After returning from England, the Sri Lanka team will play the limited-overs series against India in July. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly, has recently announced a tour of Sri Lanka. However, the schedule has not been released yet. Meanwhile, the Indian team will play a series of 5 T20 and 3 ODIs on the tour. Many of the top players, including Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, will not play on this tour.
