Tri Series: Australia Women Team Beat India by 11 Runs

The Indian women's team lost in the final of the tri-series played in Australia. The hosts captured the series by defeating India by 11 runs in the finals. Batting first, Australia scored 155 runs at the loss of 6 wickets. In response, the entire Indian team was able to score 144 runs in 20 overs. Australian bowler Jess Jonassen, who took 5 wickets was adjudged Player of the Match.

When captain Meg Lenning's wicket fell, the team had scored just 107 runs at that time.

Beth Mooney played a brilliant inning and scored 71 runs off just 54 balls to take the team's score to 155 runs. Mooney hit a total of 9 fours during the half-century innings and led the team to a big score. For India, Deepti Sharma and Rajeshwari Gaikwad took two wickets each.

For Indian, Smriti Mandhana played a big inning. She scored 66 runs off 37 balls and maintained the team in the match. Mandhana played a half-century inning, scoring 12 fours and taking India's score to 115 runs. After her wicket fell, the whole team collapsed completely. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur could manage only 14 runs. Australia's Jess Jonassen took a total of five wickets. Spending just 12 runs in 4 overs, she dismissed 5 Indian batsmen. She was adjudged Player of the Match for superb bowling.
