This mega clash of the ICC tournament will be played at The Oval in England from June 7th 2023 to June 11th 2023.

These two teams, India and Australia will meet for the fifth time in a year to play the red ball game, which is also the most times.

New Zealand’s thrilling win against Sri Lanka also helped the men in blue side to reach this position. The Kiwis won the first Test match against SL by just two wickets.

India had a decent performance in the red ball format and their only series loss came against South Africa when the men in blue side toured the Proteas Nation in 2021.

Overall their dominance in Tests is the reason why Rohit and co have reached the Finals of the World Test Championship for the second back-to-back time after the WTC Final in 2021.

Between the two-year cycle of 2021 to 2023, Team India played 18 Test matches of the World Test Championship (WTC).

The men in blue side had won ten Test matches and faced five losses as well with three red ball games had ended in a draw.

After two months of intense white ball games, team India will face a tougher challenge in the England conditions and that too against the heavyweights Australia.

IND Vs ENG started the WTC Journey for India in 2021

Under the regiment of captain and coach duo, Kohli-Shastri, India had played their first series against England in the second cycle of the World Test Championship.

The men in blue side won the red ball games in Lords and The Oval in London to be 2-1 up in the series.

However due to the threat of the coronavirus, the fifth and the last Test match was postponed which was played last year at Edgbaston. But the team lost that game and so the series was tied to two all.

IND Vs NZ in 2021 was under a new coach and captain

India's only series loss came in South Africa

Team India went to South Africa with the dream of winning the maiden Test series on their soil. But that didn’t happen and so The Proteas nation is the only place where the men in the blue side haven’t won a Test series till now.

Despite starting the series on a winning note, India lost it by a margin of 1-2. KL Rahul scored a brilliant hundred at Centurion. But later, it was the poorest batting display from India which led them to lose that series.

India was dominant against Sri Lanka in a two-match red ball series

The men in blue side have been dominant at home and it has been hard to beat them. Sri Lanka came to India to play a two-match Test series and they also competed in a T20I series as well.

This series was Rohit Sharma’s first series as a full-time skipper of the men in blue side. India whitewashed the Sri Lankans and won the series by a margin of two nil.

IND Vs BAN: India won the Test series by 2-0 in Bangladesh

After a disappointing loss in the one-day international series against Bangladesh, Team India wanted to keep their record intact of not losing a single Test match against The Bangla Tigers.

Rohit Sharma was out from this red ball series and KL Rahul led that side. Bangladesh fought brilliantly in that series. But still, Team India was too good for them.

It was a partnership between Shreyas Iyer and Ravichandran Ashwin from a tricky situation which helped India to seal the series by a margin of two nil.

At the start of 2023, the Border Gavaskar Trophy series was the most awaited one for the fans. India gave a dominant performance in the opening Test match at Nagpur and they continued their amazing form in New Delhi as well.

But when the captaincy was handed over to the experienced Steve Smith, Australia won the third Test match at Indore and also drew the last Test match of the BGT 2023 series in Ahmedabad.

However, it didn’t stop India from winning the fourth back-to-back Test series against The Aussies. India secure a spot in the 2023 World Test Championship final.
