SYDNEY TEENAGER OLIVER’S DAVIES SMASHED SIS SIXES IN AN OVER

On the first day of Under 19 championship in Adelaide Sydney teenager, Oliver's Davies smashed six sixes in an over.

Davies smashed 17 six in total against a hapless northern territory attack at the Glandore  Oval for NSW metro on Monday and finished with 207 off just 115 balls.

The most six ever smashed by a single batsman in an ODI is 16 a record shared by Rohit Sharma AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle.

He also smashed 14 fours in 115 balls.

Davies, who idolizes Shaun Marsh, reached his century off 74 balls then just took off. He scored next 100 runs in 39 balls.

His onslaught included a rare feat that very few people can boast of –a six maximums in an over. He tore into off-spinner Jack James in the 40th over of the innings and sent all the balls over the rope. It was the most runs ever taken from a single over in the history of the U 19 championship.

Only sir Garfield Sobers, Herschelle Gibbs, and Yuvraj Singh are the few players to have struck six sixes in an over in international cricket.

NSW won the match by 168 runs and Davies also took a wicket in the final over of the match as NT was dismissed for 238.

The first one-day double ton ever scored in the U 19 competition and first across all the formats since Jason Krejza achieved the feat in 2001-02.

It was amazing in the first game of the tournament to hit the ball so clearly, it was a great feeling.

I was hoping to set a big score on the board for the team after setting an early base. I just took it from there and hit them pretty well.

I like to strike the ball pretty hard from ball one and just take it as it goes from there. I like to get on top of the spinners as early as possible and put them on the back foot and take the game back into my hands.
