The Second-String Indian team is currently in Sri Lanka for ODI and T20 series. On Friday, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) announced a 24-members team for limited-over series against India. All-Rounder Dasun Shanaka has been appointed as the new white-ball captain of the Sri Lanka team. The first ODI match of the series will take place on 18 July.
Prior to this, Shanaka has also led Sri Lanka in 2019. Under his captaincy, Lanka had defeated Pakistan in T20Is series by 3-0. He was also named captain for the West Indies T20 series earlier this year but due to visa issues, Shanaka could not travel with the team on time.

According to an official BCCI statement said, "Three ODIs and 3-match T20 International will now start from July 18, 2021."
