The Indian team has suffered a major setback just before New Zealand tour as opener Shikhar Dhawan has been ruled out of the tour due to shoulder injury. Although he was injured in the third ODI against Australia, it is now reported that Shikhar Dhawan has been completely eliminated from the T20 and ODI series against New Zealand. However, the official statement from BCCI is yet to come on this.

Shikhar Dhawan was injured during fielding in the third and last ODI against Australia played in Bengaluru. He was replaced by Yuzvendra Chahal. In the middle of the match, he was rushed to the hospital. Even after the match, Shikhar Dhawan was seen supporting the shoulders through a bandage. On the other hand, One batch of the Indian team has left for Auckland on Monday night, while the second batch will leave on Tuesday night. At the same time, Shikhar Dhawan did not appear in the party before the tour due to injury. In such a situation, he is going to miss this tour.

In this tour, the Indian team has to play five T20, three one-day and two-match Test series. The T20 series will run from 24 January to 2 February. The first one-day will be played on 5 February, the second on 8 February and the third one-day on 11 February. The two-match Test series will begin on February 21. The second Test will be held from 29 February and the series ends on 4 March.
