Sanjay Bangar Decides Not to Accept BCB’s Offer to Become Test Batting Consultant

Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Bangar has turned down Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) proposal to become the Test team's batting consultant due to personal and professional commitments. The BCB has proposed Bangar to become Bangladesh's Test team batting consultant eight weeks ago. But Bangar cannot accept it, as he has signed a two-year contract with Star Sports.

On this Bangar said, 'I had been offered this position by BCB eight weeks ago but I have finalized my contract with Star. However, I am ready to work with BCB in future.' Let us tell you that Former South African cricketer Neil McKenzie is currently Bangladesh's batting consultant in limited-overs cricket.

Bangar remained associated with the Indian team from 2014 to 2019. He was replaced by Vikram Rathore after the domestic season began in September. His tour of the West Indies was his last series with the Indian team after the World Cup. Bangar has since been engaged in commentary. He had played 12 Tests and 15 One-Day games for India from 2001 to 2004. BCB Chief Executive Nizamuddin Chaudhary said earlier on Wednesday, 'We have spoken to Bangar (for the Test batting consultant) but nothing has been decided yet.'
