English all-rounder Sam Curran dismissed Harshal Patel, Kagiso Rabada and Sandeep Lamichhane in consecutive deliveries in the Indian Premier League 2019 match against Delhi Capitals to record the 18th hat-trick in the tournament's history. With figures of 4-11, the 20-year old helped Kings XI Punjab to a 14-run victory.

Curran became the third Kings XI Punjab player to record a hat-trick after Yuvraj Singh achieved the feat twice in the 2009 season and Axar Patel in 2016.

The match looked going Delhi's way with Colin Ingram and Rishabh Pant at the crease when Curran alongside Mohammad Shami struck in successive overs to remove the pair to tilt the scales in Punjab's favour.

On Monday night, PCA IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali was sunk in celebration. Kings XI Punjab team's stars have gained momentum after winning by 14 runs against Delhi Capitals in the current IPL. The Kings' team has reached the second place with a huge jump in the table with 3 wins in 4 matches. Chennai Super Kings are currently at the top after winning the hat-trick of victory.

In the victory of Kings XI Punjab, left-arm fast bowler Sam's hat-trick was an important contribution. Thanks to its hat-trick, this all-rounder is in the headlines. Curran did not only make the first hat-trick of IPL-12 but in the IPL the youngest age player of only 20 years, he had a hat-trick record.
