On Monday previous India captain Rahul Dravid was selected as Head of Cricket at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), the BCCI has reported.

Dravid should take over as NCA head from July 1 yet his position at the India Cements caused the deferral.

The Committee of Administrators (CoA) asked Dravid to give up his post as VP of India Cements or be on leave until he finishes his residency.

India Cements at that point sent him on leave to maintain a strategic distance from the irreconcilable situation.

"Mr. Dravid will oversee all cricket related activities at NCA and will be involved in mentoring, coaching, training and motivating players, coaches and support staff at the NCA," BCCI said in a release.

"Dravid will also work closely with the National men's and women's Head coaches and coaches for India Developmental teams – including India A, India Under 19, India Under 23 teams, in the identification of key training and development objectives," the release added.

The BCCI did not indicate the residency of arrangement for Dravid, who will likewise be in charge of checking the advancement of the formative groups and give fundamental contributions on the equivalent to the senior people's head mentors.
