ODI World Cup 2023: The Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai once again witnessed a spectacular performance from the men in blue side in their league match of the ODI World Cup 2023 against Sri Lanka yesterday.

Rohit Sharma and his men didn’t disappoint Sachin Tendulkar and the other Mumbai crowd as India won this game by a mammoth margin of 302 runs.

Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bowl first in this encounter. The Lankan bowlers got an early wicket of the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma for just 4 runs.

Then the King and the Prince shared a brilliant partnership which took India ahead of this game against Sri Lanka. Kohli scored 88 runs while Gill smashed the top score of this game, 92 runs.

But both the batters, Virat and Shubman missed a chance of getting a well-deserved century. Shreyas Iyer was the one who finished the innings on a high for India.

He hit some lusty blows which included the longest six of this year’s ODI World Cup 2023. The Mumbai-born batter, Iyer scored 82 runs and like his other two teammates, even Shreyas failed to get that three-figure mark.

India batted for the whole 50 overs and they reached a score of 357 runs. Then the Indian bowlers showed their brilliant form with the white cherry once again and this time the Indian pace trio bundled the whole Sri Lankan team in 19.4 overs with just 55 runs on the board.

With this huge win, India becomes the first side to qualify for the semi finals of ODI World Cup 2023.

Here are two Nightmare Bowlers For Sri Lanka in the Two Recent Matches Against India

The bowlers of the men in the blue side have performed consistently well in this ODI World Cup 2023. They have bundled out good batting powerhouse sides like Australia, Pakistan, and England quite cheaply which has made the job of the Indian batsmen very easy. That’s why India has won all the seven matches played till now.

The batters of Sri Lanka have cut a sorry figure in the last two recent one-day international matches played against the men in the blue side.

Here are the two nightmare bowlers for the Lankan Tigers, due to them the whole Sri Lankan team was bundled out to their lowest totals in this game of the fifty overs format –

1. Mohammed Shami

This pacer came in as a replacement for Hardik Pandya in the match versus New Zealand. But now Mohammed Shami is irreplaceable at the moment and the most likely player to go out of the team when Hardik returns is Suryakumar Yadav.

Shami has picked up 2 five-wicket hauls in three matches played in this ODI World Cup 2023. He also went past Zaheer Khan and Javagal Srinath to become the highest wicket-taker in the ODI World Cup history for India. Shami now has 45 wickets to his name with three five-wicket hauls.

His first five-wicket haul in ODI World Cup 2023 came against New Zealand at Dharmshala and yesterday as well, he bowled amazingly well against Sri Lanka to get this second five fer of this ODI World Cup 2023.

Shami has been consistently bowling those good areas which has helped to get wickets on a regular basis.

Mohammed Shami can be the nightmare for any opposition team on his day. Till now, this pace bowler has got 14 wickets in just three games of this competition so far and he is also the only bowler to pick up two five-wicket hauls in this fifty overs event.

2. Mohammed Siraj

This pacer would be another nightmare bowler for the whole Sri Lankan team. No one can forget that spell from this pace bowler in the final of the ODI Asia Cup 2023.

Siraj took 4 wickets in one over and the whole Sri Lankan side was bundled out for just 50 runs.

Siraj didn’t look in great rhythm before yesterday’s game. But once he saw the Lankan batters on the field, Siraj got his lost form back. He also picked up three wickets yesterday and in both occasions, it was Boom Boom Bumrah who gave a brilliant start with the new ball for India.

That’s why the men in blue side have been successful in picking up the wickets in middle overs as well.
