NZ Vs SA 2nd Test Match: New Zealand Wins Two Match Red Ball Series By A Margin of 2-0 Against South Africa

NZ Vs SA 2nd Test Match: Kane Williamson scored his third century in this series of two Test matches against South Africa. The former skipper of New Zealand was unbeaten on 133 runs and Will Young was not out on 60 runs which helped the Kiwis to chase a target of 267 runs and also win this Test series by a margin of two nil on the fourth day itself.

NZ Vs SA 2nd Test Match: New Zealand chase down the score of 267 runs on the fourth day of the second Test match. The home side also wins the Test series by a margin of 2-0.

South Africa had didn’t bat well in this whole series. But in the second and the last match, the Proteas gave an improved batting show.

David Bedingham’s century in the second of the South Africans would be the positive for them moving forward. Bedingham was also the highest run scorer for the visitors in this series.

Dane Piedt would be another positive for them with the ball in hand. He also picked up a five-wicket haul which was in the 1st innings when the Blackcaps side batted.

As said yesterday, South Africa should pick up the wicket of Kane Williamson early. Otherwise, he has the calibre, capability and talent to take the game away from any position and opposition.

The former skipper of the Blackcaps team had already smashed twin centuries in the first Test match which the Kiwis won the game by 281 runs.  

In the second Test match as well, a century from Williamson in the second innings took his team over the line. New Zealand had lost Devon Conway yesterday on day three and today, on the fourth day, the hosts lost two more wickets during the run chase of 267 runs. Rachin Ravindra and Tom Latham were the batters who were dismissed.

It was Kane Williamson and Will Young who stood tall in this run chase. Dane Piedt picked up all three wickets of the New Zealand batters. He has got eight scalps to his name in this red ball game.

Dane had missed the first game. But now it feels that Piedt should have been in that contest which would have made some difference in the 1st Test match at Bay Oval.

Will Young, who failed to score big in the 1st innings, did well when his country needed him to chase down a score. Young scored 36 runs in the first outing and he was unbeaten 60 runs in the second innings.

He also shared a partnership of unbeaten 152 runs with Kane Williamson after the wicket of Rachin Ravindra.

Kane Williamson is the highest run-getter for New Zealand in this two match series of the red ball format. He was also the top scorer in the 1st innings as well and he smashed unbeaten 133 runs in the second innings.

Williamson also scored three centuries in this series which is also the most by any batsmen from the Kiwi nation.

William O'Rourke won the match of the match award for his five-wicket haul on his first ever Test match. He took four wickets in the 1st innings and picked up a five-fer in the second innings.

New Zealand had won their first-ever Red Ball Series against South Africa. It took them 92 years and 18 attempts to achieve this historic milestone in Test match Cricket.
