Former Indian captain and National Cricket Academy (NCA) chief Rahul Dravid will serve as the team's coach for three ODIs and three T20 matches against Sri Lanka in July. Earlier, he worked as a batting consultant during the tour of England in 2014. According to a BCCI official, Ravi Shastri, Bharat Arun and Vikram Rathour would be in England along with the Test team. In such a situation, Dravid will take over the responsibility of the coach for the tour of Sri Lanka.

The official said, "The Team India coaching staff will be in the UK and it is best that the young team is guided by Dravid as he has already worked with almost all of India 'A' boys. The comfort the youngsters share with him will be an added advantage."
