She surpassed former England captain Charlotte Edwards (10,273 runs in 309 matches). Before the third ODI, Mithali was 11 runs behind the former England captain. He achieved this milestone by hitting a four-off English bowler Nate Shiver. In this way, now the top run-scorer in both men's and women's international cricket has become Indian. Sachin Tendulkar is number 1 in men's cricket with 34,357 runs.
