Mayank Agarwal Replaces Shikhar Dhawan in ODI Series against West Indies

While giving information on Shikhar Dhawan's injury, BCCI said that Mayank Agarwal will be part of the ODI team in his place.

Shikhar Dhawan has been ruled out of the ODI series against the West Indies. Mayank Agarwal, who has batted brilliantly in Test matches in place of Dhawan, has been included in the team. Dhawan was also ruled out of the T20 series against the West Indies due to injury, replacing Sanju Samson in the team. While giving information on Shikhar Dhawan's injury, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said that Mayank Agarwal will be part of the ODI team in his place. Dhawan was injured during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Mayank has shown a great game in Test cricket after which he has now been given a place in the ODI team. Mayank was also sent to England during the ICC World Cup.

The BCCI said on Wednesday that Dhawan was injured in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match during the match against Mumbai, and his left hand has suffered a deep cut to the elbow. The BCCI medical team has said that it will take a long time to recover. He still need time to be fully fit. India has to play three ODIs against West Indies soon after the three-match T20 series. The first match of the ODI series will be played in Chennai on 15 December. The second match will be held in Visakhapatnam on the 18th, while the last ODI is to be played in Cuttack on 22 December.

Mayank has performed brilliantly while playing as an opener in the Test team. In 9 Tests, he has scored a total of 1540 runs at an average of 67. This includes two double centuries against South Africa and Bangladesh.
