Cricket Australia on Sunday announced squad for the five-match T20 series against Bangladesh starting in Dhaka on Tuesday. Matthew Wade has been named the captain for this T20 series, as regular captain Aaron Finch had to be ruled out of the tour due to a knee injury during the tour of West Indies last month. Meanwhile, Finch has returned to Australia to undergo knee surgery.
In the absence of Aaron Finch, 33-year-old Matthew Wade has been given the captaincy. He has been named captain for the second time. Earlier in December, Matthew Wade got a chance to lead the team during the second T20 match against India in Australia.
Several senior players, including regular vice-captain Pat Cummins, are not on the tour. As Australia preparing for the October T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates and Oman. Alex Carey took over as captain of the one-day team from Finch during the 2-1 series win over West Indies. He added, "We've probably got a younger batting group than these tours. We don't have a lot of international experience among all our batsmen."
