Zimbabwe to Host Two Test Series against Sri Lanka in JanuaryThe tenure of former chief selector MSK Prasad has ended recently. Now, the new Chief Selector of the Board of Control for Cricket in India is to be elected. Madan Lal, who was part of the 1983 World Cup winning team, might appointed as the head of Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). It has been more than two months since former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly became the chairman, but the BCCI has not announce the head of CAC. Due to this, the senior and junior selection committee has not been changed so far. Madan Lal has also contested the post of President of Delhi and District Cricket Association and was defeated in the last election by senior journalist Rajat Sharma.

A BCCI official said that an agreement has been reached on Madan Lal's name. The names of the remaining two members are under consideration and will be announced officially thereafter. The CAC's job is to select the selection committee and head coach.

Currently, Ravi Shastri is the head coach of the Indian team which was selected by the CAC headed by Kapil Dev. The CAC later resigned after being accused of a conflict of interest. The new CAC will only have the job of selecting the senior and junior selection committee and it will be completed in one meeting only.
