Jasprit Bumrah said, 'Most people believe that Lasith Malinga taught me the Yorker bowling, which is not true. He did not teach me anything on the field. I have only learned one thing from him that how to face different situations, how to plan for the batsman and how to control anger'. Regarding the yorker, Bumrah said, 'I used to watch cricket on TV. Whenever bowlers took wickets or threw the ball at high speed, I used to enjoy it a lot. I thought that this is what I want to do. I considered myself Brett Lee in my mind. Sometimes he bowled like this, sometimes he did something else. I used to copy my ideal bowlers.'

Bumrah said, 'when we used to play cricket in our childhood, we had a rubber ball, it was very tough and the seam was also inscribed on it. This ball used to swing a lot. We did not play on the pitch so there was no seam movement and there was no possibility of getting caught behind the wicket. In such a situation, I tried to throw the ball at full length to the batsmen as much as possible. If you wanted a wicket, you had to throw yorkers. I believe this experience made me sane. '
