It is My Responsibility to Help Virat Kohli When he is in Doubt: Rohit Sharma

Ahead of ICC Cricket World Cup, Indian opener Rohit Sharma has said that being the vice-captain of the side has its own responsibilities and he is aware of them. He feels that he has to provide inputs and help out his captain Virat Kohli when the situations get tricky.

Rohit, who has been of the Indian team since 2007, spoke about how MS Dhoni had the support of senior players like Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag and conceded that as a senior member of the side, it becomes his responsibility to be more involved and help the captain.

He quoted saying "Being a vice-captain, it is my responsibility to stand by Virat Kohli and help him when he is in doubt. That's what we have done in the last few years."

Speaking about the atmosphere in the Indian team, Rohit said that all types of inputs and suggestions are welcome and that it only helps bind the group together.

He also said "The team is not built from a single player; it belongs to all the 15 members who are playing. So if any of the team members want to come and give any suggestion, it is for the good of the team."

This comes after Virat Kohli too had earlier said that he always takes the inputs of Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni in crunch situations.
