In such a situation, everyone's eyes are on what those new teams will be. After doing the technical evaluation of the bids, the BCCI will announce the new franchise.

Two teams will be named after any two cities of the country. 6 cities are in the race for this. Although teams like Ahmedabad and Lucknow are said to be at the forefront of this race. This is because Ahmedabad has the largest cricket stadium in the world. At the same time, through Lucknow, the BCCI wants to take the IPL to the most populous state.

Which contenders are in the fray for the new teams?
