The players were auctioned in Kolkata on Thursday for the 13th season of the IPL. Out of the total 338 players involved in the auction, 62 players were sold out of which 29 are foreigners. Talking about the oldest and youngest player who participated in the auction, the oldest cricketer got a buyer, but the youngest player remained unsold.

Praveen Tambe was India's oldest player in the auction. The Kolkata Knight Riders team bought 48-year-old Tambe for their base price of Rs 20 lakh. But 15-year-old Afghan cricketer Noor Ahmed, who joined as the youngest cricketer, did not find any buyers. His base price was 30 lakh rupees.

Praveen, born in October 1971, is a leg break spinner. He made his IPL debut in 2013 at the age of 42. He played a total of 33 IPL matches in four seasons between 2013 and 2016, taking 28 wickets. During this, he was in the team of Rajasthan Royals, Gujarat Lions and Sunrisers Hyderabad. He has not played a season since 2016. He was bought by the Hyderabad team in the year 2017, but did not get a chance in the playing eleven of any match.
