IND Vs AUS: Australia needs to play out of their skins in the 3rd and final one-day international match of this three-match series. The Aussies have lost five fifty over games on the bounce.
Australia had lost 3 ODI games in South Africa and two in this ongoing three-match series against the men in the blue side.
Now the 3rd and final one-day international match of this series will be played at Saurashtra Cricket Stadium in Rajkot.
This game will be the last match before the ODI World Cup 2023 starts in India from 5th October 2023. The final match of this series will be played tomorrow, 27th September 2023.
The men in the blue side have given a wonderful performance in the first two one-day international matches of this three-match series and that is the reason why Team India has gained a 2-0 lead as well, which is a good sign before the ICC mega event of the fifty overs format starts in few days time.
In the first two games of this ODI series, KL Rahul led the side and this team was without the star-studded players who were there when India won the ODI Asia Cup 2023 in Sri Lanka.
Now high profile players will be back in the squad and so these six players will have to make way for them.
The opening batter played well in the first ODI match in Mohali. He shared a wonderful partnership with Shubman Gill at the top order, which led the foundation for India to win that game by five wickets.
But he was the only low scorer for India in the second game in Indore and now Rutu will have to make way for the skipper Rohit Sharma in the last game of the series.
The fast bowler bowled well with the new ball in the second game in Indore. He got two back-to-back wickets which never allowed the Aussies to settle down.
Prasidh came in as a replacement for Bumrah and now Boom Boom walks into this side for the 3rd match which is also the last game before the World Cup.
Lord Thakur didn’t have an ideal series with the ball and in the two matches he didn’t get a chance to bat in the lower order. Shardul was expensive in the first game in Mohali and he didn’t bowl that well in Indore.
So Mohammed Siraj should be back for the final match of this three-match series.
The ace off-spinner did well in the first two games of this one-day international series. He also went past Anil Kumble, who had picked the most wickets against Australia.
But Kuldeep Yadav has done well for India and the chinaman bowler should keep his place in the side for the game in Rajkot.
In the 2nd one-day international match, Shreyas Iyer slammed a brilliant century. He scored 105 from just 90 deliveries. Iyer had made a comeback to the Indian squad after a long injury break.
He got just one match in the ODI Asia Cup 2023 which was against Pakistan. But now Virat Kohli will replace Iyer for the 3rd match.
Both these players have done a good job for Team India in the limited-overs format. SKY has been a T20 specialist for India.
But his fifty-overs career hasn’t been that great. Still, he scored a half-century in Indore. While Kishan has done well as the opening batter and he has made a decent name as the middle batter after his knock against Pakistan in the first match of the Asia Cup 2023.
But the team needs the bowling services of Hardik Pandya, who was also rested for the first two games of this ODI series. As we all know Hardik has been bowling really well since his return and he should get time out in the middle with the bat in hand before the ODI WC starts.
So Hardik should be in the playing eleven of Team India for the final game of this series at Rajkot.
Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul(wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav/Ishan Kishan, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammed Siraj.
