Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Dinesh Karthik, Axar Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal/Ravi Ashwin, and Jasprit Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah will be back for the second T20 International match against Australia. Boom Boom Bumrah had missed the first match of this three-match series in Mohali on Tuesday.
Now the news and reports say that the star pacer will be in the playing XI of the men in the blue side which will help India to solve their bowling woes.
India batted well in the first T20I game. Hardik, KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav were the stars for the home side. But India will also need runs from their skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in this do-or-die match.
If India loses this game, then they will lose the series too, which will not be a good sign ahead of Australia's T20 World Cup 2022.
Axar Patel did well with the ball. But his promotion ahead of experienced Dinesh Karthik wasn’t ideal.
DK is the designated finisher in the team and that is why he has been selected instead of Rishabh Pant.
Karthik should get more deliveries to get going and finish the innings on a high for India. He should bat at number six after Hardik Pandya in the second T20I match tomorrow.
India can also pick Ravichandran Ashwin instead of Yuzvendra Chahal, who was expensive in the last game. Yuzi picked up a lone wicket of Tim David in the last over.
But he wasn’t at his best. Even in the Asia Cup 2022, Ash bowled well while Chahal leaked runs in the middle overs. In the absence of Jadeja, Ashwin is the more experienced bowler and also gives batting depth to the side.
Aaron Finch, Cameron Green, Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Josh Inglis, Tim David, Matthew Wade, Pat Cummins, Nathan Ellis, Adam Zampa and Josh Hazlewood
The world champions, Australia, started the series on a winning note. They had a good start to their run chase and Matthew Wade finished the game in a brilliant fashion.
Cameron Green was also excellent as the opener and it didn’t looked like the all-rounder has opened the innings for the first time in his T20I career.
Australia will continue with Cameron Green as their opener till David Warner is available and they will also want their skipper Finch to come in good form before the T20 WC starts.
Steve Smith also batted well and shared a vital partnership with Green. While Maxi would hope to come good with the bat in Nagpur tomorrow.
The visitors may not go with any changes. But they can still think to add Daniel Sams or Sean Abbott instead of Josh Inglis. Sams is an all-rounder and Abbott is a pure pace bowler which will add more pace battery in their kitty.
The Aussies can also think of replacing Inglis with Agar, the spinner or Kane Richardson which gives Finch many options on these flat decks.
Hazlewood and Cummins bowled decently in the first game with the new ball while Nathan Ellis was awesome in the middle overs.
Australia will be keen on playing with Zampa despite he was wicketless in the first game and that is why they can add Agar, Richardson, or Sams in their lineup for the second T20I match.
The pitch in Nagpur is said to be on the slower side. The bowlers will be assisted in the first innings while the batting will have an upper hand while chasing in the second innings. Win the toss and bowl first should be the way to go.
The weather forecast says the rains can spoil the party and interrupt the second T20 International match because the thunderstorms are also been predicted in the city of Nagpur.
Boom Boom Bumrah will be back in the playing XI after missing the first match of the series. Jasprit can help India to solve the death overs issue which didn’t allow them to win the first T20I game in Mohali.
Bumrah can also be lethal with the new ball especially if India wins the toss and opts to bowl first. Bumrah’s comeback will certainly boost the confidence of the home side in this game.
This Aussie bowler did well in Mohali and he is expected to be more dangerous in Nagpur. If Australia bowls first then they can run away with the game because the pitch will have something for the bowlers.
Ellis picked up three wickets in the first match at Mohali and he will be eyeing for another wonderful performance which can allow Australia to win the T20I series.
The skipper will have to fire in the remaining two matches which will allow India to win this series. Rohit didn’t score much in the first game and now in the must-win match, Hit Man is expected to do well and lead the team from the front.
He is the best finisher in the Australian T20I setup. Wade did extremely well in the first game and guided the Aussies to a fantastic win.
Australia crumpled in between during a high-scoring run chase. But Matthew Wade held his nerve and took his team over the line.
Wade is expected to do well in the 2nd T20I also. He is an experienced finisher for Australia in the shortest format.
