ICC Releases Latest ODI Rankings, Mithali Raj Reclaims Top Spot

After the tremendous performance in the three-match ODI series against England, Indian women's team captain Mithali Raj reclaimed the number one spot in the women's ODI rankings. She scored half-centuries in all three ODIs against the England team. Raj topped the ODI batsmen's rankings for the 8th time during her long career spanning 22 years.

In the three-match ODI series against England, Mithali scored 206 runs at an average of 103 and was also the highest run-scorer in this ODI series. On the back of Mithali's brilliant innings, India got a spectacular victory in the third ODI. After her performance, she gained four places and reached the top spot. Apart from Mithali, Smriti Mandhana is among the top ten batsmen. She has lost one place and moved to number seven.

Mithali scored 3 half-centuries in ODI series:

Mithali had scored 206 runs in the ODI series against England. The Indian captain had scored 72, 59 and 75* respectively in the series. However, England won the ODI series 2-1. Let us tell you that Mithali had achieved top position in the ODI rankings for the first time in 2005.

Mithali, who made her ODI debut for India on June 26, 1999, recently completed 22 years in her international career. Only Sachin Tendulkar (22 years and 91 days) has played ODI cricket for longer than her. Meanwhile, opener Shafali Verma scored 44 and 19 in the last two ODIs. She has moved up 49 places to the 71st position. On the other hand, Deepti Sharma, who took three wickets for 47 runs in the last ODI, has reached 12th place in the bowlers' rankings.
