ICC Decides to Postpone Men’s T20 World Cup 2020

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has postponed the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia in October-November this year. Coronavirus epidemic is the main reason behind the cancellation of this tournament. On the other hand, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has got the October-November window for organizing the IPL 2020.

Actually, the ICC board meeting was held on Monday through video conferencing. The aim of this meeting was to decide the future of the T20 World Cup 2020. The ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2020 was scheduled to be held from October 18 to November 15 in Australia, but it has been speculated for a long time that this tournament would not be played this year due to the coronavirus epidemic, because it is not possible to organize such a big tournament.

There will be two consecutive T20 World Cups in 2021 and 2022:

The ICC has not yet clarified whether the proposed T20 World Cup will be held next year in Australia, as India also has to host the T20 World Cup schedule next year. Apart from this, the ICC also informed that there will be two consecutive T20 World Cups in 2021 and 2022, while in 2023 India will host an ODI World Cup.

According to the International Cricket Council, the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021 will be held in October-November, whose final match will be played on November 14, while the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 will also be held in the October-November window and the final match will be held on November 13, 2022.

BCCI may host IPL in October-November:

Following the ICC's decision to postpone the T20 World Cup 2020, the BCCI has got the October-November window to host the world's most expensive T20 league. The BCCI had recently decided that the 13th season of IPL would be held between September 26 and November 8. However, it is yet to be officially announced by the BCCI that when and where the IPL 2020 is to be organized on a large scale.
