ICC Announces Nominations for the ICC Player of the Month Award for July

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has named Australian cricketer Mitchell Marsh, Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and West Indies' Hayden Walsh Jr for ‘Player of the Month’ award for July.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has named Australian cricketer Mitchell Marsh, Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and West Indies' Hayden Walsh Jr for 'Player of the Month' award for July. Meanwhile, the nominated women players are Hayley Mathews (West Indies), Fatima Sana (Pakistan) and Stephanie Taylor (West Indies). The ICC has given this information by issuing an official release.

Bangladesh's experienced star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has showed brilliant game in all three formats. Bangladesh won the series against Zimbabwe last month. Hasan scored an unbeaten 96 runs as Bangladesh won by three wickets in the second ODI at Harare Sports Club. In T20Is, Hasan took three wickets at an economy rate of 7, helping his country win the series against Zimbabwe.

Men's nominations:

On the other hand, Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh played three ODIs and five T20Is against the West Indies last month. In T20s, Marsh scored 219 runs with a strike rate of 152.08 and took 8 wickets with an economy rate of 6.76, making him the leading run-scorer and wicket-taker for Australia in the series.

Meanwhile, Leg-spinner Hayden Walsh Jr played three ODIs against Australia last month, where he took seven wickets at an economy rate of 4.14. He was also the most influential bowler in the T20I series against Australia, where he took 12 wickets in five matches at an average of 11.66, making him the highest wicket-taker for the West Indies in both the ODI and T20I series against Australia.

Women's nominations:

West Indies women's all-rounder Hayley Mathews scored her second ODI century and took two wickets as Caribbean team registered an eight-wicket win over Pakistan last month. Mathews was also adjudged Player of the Series against Pakistan.

On the other hand, Fatima Sana was the highest wicket-taker for Pakistan in the ODI series against West Indies. Sana's five-wicket haul helped Pakistan beat West Indies by 22 runs via the Duckworth-Lewis method in the fifth ODI of the series. Meanwhile, West Indies captain Stafanie Taylor contributed with both bat and ball. West Indies won their ODI and T20I series against Pakistan in July. In four ODIs against Pakistan, Stephanie scored 175 runs at a strike rate of 79.18 and took three wickets at an economy rate of 3.72.
