England Reach Semi-Finals After Beat New Zealand

England delivered one more clinical performance against a hapless New Zealand side on Wednesday to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup for the first time after 1992, for all intents and purposes knocking out Pakistan from the race to qualify for the last four of this edition.

The hosts rode on one more great batting execution from any a semblance of Jonny Bairstow (106), Jason Roy (60) and captain Eoin Morgan (42) to post 305 for 8 on the board. Mark Wood and company then ran through the Kiwi batting lineup to bundle the opposition out for 186 in 45 overs with Wood grabbing 3 wickets.

The win not just observed England secure third spot in the points table yet in addition enormously improved their net run rate. It was their 6th win in nine matches while New Zealand endured their third successive loss in the competition.
