Veteran England all-rounder Moeen Ali has announced his retirement from Test cricket to focus on limited-overs cricket. This has also been confirmed by the ICC. According to British media reports, Moeen has informed Test captain Joe Root and head coach Chris Silverwood of his decision.
Moeen made his Test debut against Sri Lanka in 2014. 28 in 64 Tests played so far. Has scored 2914 runs at an average of 29. He has also scored 5 centuries and 14 half-centuries in his innings. He has also taken 195 wickets at an average of 36.66. In 112 ODIs, Moeen Ali has scored 1877 runs at an average of 25.02. He has also taken 84 wickets at an average of 50.85. In 38 T20Is, Moeen has scored 437 runs and has taken 21 wickets.
Moeen Ali returned to the England team after two years for the five-Test series against India. He last played in the 2019 Ashes series before returning to the home series against India.

Moeen Ali is currently in UAE and is in IPL Phase Two for Chennai Super Kings. Moeen's name is included in England's T20 squad. The T20 World will begin next month in the UAE and Oman under the banner of the Board of Control for Cricket in India from October 17. Its final match will be played on November 14.
