DC Vs SRH TATA IPL 2023: After facing five consecutive losses, the team of Delhi Capitals (DC) has won two back-to-back games and both of these wins have come because of their good bowling performances.
However, their batting still needs to come good as the playoff race will start in the upcoming matches of the TATA IPL 2023 season.
Before the 35th Match of the Indian Premier League 2023 season starts between the defending champions, Gujarat Titans (GT), and the five-time champion side, Mumbai Indians (MI), let us look at the top five performers of the yesterday's game which was played at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Uppal at Hyderabad.
The GT Vs MI encounter will be played today at Shri Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The spin-bowling all-rounder of the Indian team, Axar Patel was named the player of the match for his excellent contribution with the bat and ball.
The Capitals were struggling at one point after they opted to bat first in yesterday’s game. Axar was the second-highest scorer for DC.
His 34 runs allowed his team to be in the contest and Patel also shared a much-needed partnership with Manish Pandey. Later Patel also got two wickets when SRH was chasing 145 runs to win.
Axar picked up the wickets of Mayank Agarwal and the skipper of the SRH side, Aiden Markram, which turned the game in the favour of DC.
The middle-order batter of the Delhi Capitals did well against his past franchise team, Sunrisers Hyderabad. Pandey Ji held the innings together when the wickets tumbled at the other end.
He also shared a much-needed partnership with the spin-bowling all-rounder Axar Patel. Manish scored 49 runs and he is the highest scorer for his franchise side in yesterday’s game.
The SRH team too never had a good start in their innings just their opposition team.
Despite that, Mayank Agarwal played well for his 49 runs, and just like Manish Pandey, Agarwal’s 49 runs were also the highest score by an SRH batter in the 34th match of the TATA IPL 2023 season.
Another common fact is that both, SRH and DC are on four points each after yesterday’s game.
The South African keeper batter was expected to finish the innings in style for the orange army. But nothing happened of that sort.
Heinrich Klaasen took the game deep and made it exciting for the fans who supported the SRH side. However, he failed to provide that finishing kick and departed after Heinrich played an entertaining knock of 31 runs.
That was also the reason why SRH lost this match by seven runs.
The Indian pace bowler, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the one who did the early damage when DC batted first in yesterday’s game. He picked up the wickets of Philip Salt for no score and also removed the well-set Axar Patel.
Bhuvi was also the most economical bowler in this game. Kumar gave away just 11 runs from his four overs and his economy rate was 2.80, which was the best in the whole match.
