
Cristiano Ronaldo and his wife Georgina Rodriguez announced on a social media platform that their newborn baby son has passed away. Ronaldo shared in a social media post last October that he's going to have twins.
Manchester United forward's a Twitter account, they confirmed the birth of a baby girl. Ronaldo writes in a social media post, “It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel," Ronaldo and Georgina said in a jointly-signed statement.
"Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness. We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support
"We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time."
The pair, who met during Ronaldo's tenure at Real Madrid, has a four-year-old daughter together, while Ronaldo has three other children.
"Your pain is our pain, Cristiano," Manchester United tweeted. "Sending love and strength to you and the family at this time."
Real Madrid also commented on their website, stating that the club, "Its President and Board of Directors are very saddened by the death of one of our beloved Cristiano Ronaldo and his partner, Georgina Rodriguez, who were expecting a child. Real Madrid shares the family's sadness and wishes to express our heartfelt condolences."
