Chris Gayle Expressed Grief Over his Treatment in the T20 League

West Indies' most explosive batsman, Chris Gayle, took a heartfelt farewell to the Mzansi T20 League being played in South Africa. Gayle plays in the Mzansi Super League for the Jozi Stars team. The Defending champion team has not even won single match after playing more than 6 in the tournament.

Gayle pleaded not to hold himself responsible for the team's defeat. The 40-year-old Gayle, speaking to ESPN Cricinfo, expressed grief over his treatment in the T20 league. Gayle said he did not get the respect he deserves in all the leagues.

40-year-old West Indies opener Gayle scored just 101 runs in 6 innings in the T20 League of South Africa and said goodbye to the tournament. In the final Match on Sunday, he scored 54 runs and left the tournament. He said, as if I don't score runs in only one or two matches, then become burden to the team.

Gayle said, "I am not talking about a single team. It is based on a review of the experience of playing for different franchise teams in the last several years. I automatically become burden on team if I don't score in two or three matches. It seems as if only one player became a burden on the whole team and then after that you hear a lot of things. I am not going to get respect. What you have done, people do not remember that thing."
