CAC will be Formed Soon to Appoint Selectors: BCCI President Sourav Ganguly

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said on Friday that a Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) would be formed in the next few days to appoint a new selection panel for three years. Ganguly said that the CAC will be appointed for one meeting to decide the selectors. The head coach of the men's team has been selected by a former committee headed by Kapil Dev. Ganguly said on the sidelines of a program, "CAC will be formed in the next few days." It will take only one meeting as the head coach has already been appointed. The tenure of the current selection committee chairman MSK Prasad and member Gagan Khoda is coming to an end. Jatin Paranjpe, Sharandeep Singh and Dewang Gandhi are yet to have a one-year term left, but there is speculation that they too will be removed.

The appointment of CAC has been a major issue of conflict of interest. Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman and Kapil Dev were also accused of conflict of interest after which they had to resign. Ganguly also talked about the IPL auction in which Kolkata Knight Riders bought Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins for Rs 15.50 crore.

Ganguly does not think this price is high for him. He said, It depends on the need. It happens in such a auction. Ganguly also picked his fantasy XI, with Indian captain Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and David Warner of Australia in the top order. Rishabh Pant is the wicketkeeper in it. He has kept himself as the captain though. He said, "I would like to be the captain and coach of the team and will also bat if needed."
