A new debate has started in cricket world these days. The ICC believes that in order to increase the trend of Test cricket, it should be changed to 4 days instead of 5 days, so that more and more people can get interest in it. But in the cricket world, this idea of ICC is being described as rubbish and many cricketers including many former veterans are calling it ridiculous. Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has also joined this episode. Shoaib also rejected the idea and expressed confidence in the BCCI that it would not give its approval to the decision. Shoaib Akhtar, popularly known as Rawalpindi Express, while reviewing this idea of ICC on his YouTube channel called it a nonsense move and also said that the move is a conspiracy against Asian countries. He endorsed Sachin Tendulkar in which Sachin said that removing the 5th day from Test cricket means taking away the right of the spinners.
"Everywhere there is this conspiracy, a theory against Asian teams these days. I feel this (reduction of Test to four days) is totaly against Asian teams," Akhtar said in a video posted on his YouTube channel. "I feel this idea is rubbish no one should be interested in it," he added.
Shoaib said, "However the ICC cannot move even a step on this idea without the approval of the BCCI." Akhtar said that the President of BCCI Saurabh Ganguly will not support this decision of ICC. Talking about Test cricket on his YouTube channel, the 44-year-old former fast bowler said, "The idea of playing four days of Test cricket is utter nonsense and no one should show interest in it. BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly is an intelligent man and he will not let this happen. He will not let Test cricket die".
