BCCI to Setup Medical Panel for NCA

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will soon setup the Medical Panel for National Cricket Academy (NCA), which recently suffered criticism due to the failure to deal with the injuries of Indian players. Social media department will be also created in NCA. The recent NCA meeting discussed the need for a medical panel, which was attended by BCCI officials including President Saurabh Ganguly and NCA Chief Rahul Dravid. This decision was taken after NCA was severely criticized for injury management of India's top players Riddhiman Saha and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. All-rounder Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah also underwent personal rehabilitation centers instead of NCA.

The top BCCI official said that they would consult the clinic 'Fortius' in London to set up its medical panel. The long-vacant 'fast bowler head' post will soon be appointed, which will be responsible for setting up a fast bowling program at NCA. In addition, the board will also appoint a head of nutrition for the facilities in Bangalore. A social media manager will also be appointed for the academy which will provide regular updates of all the events happening inside the NCA.

The board official said that this move will improve the NCA's reputation. The NCA was unable to identify Bhuvaneshwar Kumar's sports hernia. Players like Bumrah and Hardik also sought outside help to recover from injuries rather than relying on NCA staff, which was criticized by the NCA after the news came.
