BCCI Invites Applications for GM Game Development after Saba Karim’s Exit

Former cricketer Saba Karim has recently resigned from the post of BCCI's General Manager (Game Development).  On the other hand, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has invited application for this vacant post after Karim's exit. Earlier this month, the BBCI had asked Karim to resign after accepting the resignation of former board Chief Rahul Johri. The deadline for this application is August 7. Let us tell you that Ratnakar Shetty was the last to hold the post of Sports Development. He retired in March 2018.

Former Indian wicketkeeper Karim was appointed as the General Manager (Game Development) in December 2017. He was in charge of domestic and women's cricket. According to the BCCI website, the general manager of game development will be responsible for scheduling and monitoring the tour schedule of home matches, in addition to match play rules, pitch and outfield.

Decision on future of BCCI President's term:

BCCI will also take decision regarding the term of Sourav Ganguly as the board's President. It will be decided in the meeting whether he will continue as the President of the BCCI or he will have to leave the post to go through a period of cooling off. Ganguly's term will end on July 27. According to the constitution of the board, the total period of holding a post has been limited to 6 years. Ganguly served as the head of the Kolkata Cricket Board before taking over as president and was elected to the post of BCCI chairman for just 9 months.

BCCI announced IPL 2020 date:

The dates for this year's Indian Premier League, to be held in the UAE, were announced on Friday. Chairman Brijesh Patel said that the tournament will start on 19 September and its final match will be played on 8 November. This time, 60 matches will be played in 51 days. Each team will play 14–14 matches.
