Australian Batsman David Warner Likely to Quit T20I Format

Australia's explosive batsman David Warner has hinted at retiring from T20 cricket. Warner has said that due to the continuous T20 World Cup, he is now thinking of leaving this format. The ICC T20 World Cup is to be played in Australia this year, followed by the next year in India. David Warner, who returned after the one-year ban, has performed brilliantly. In the series against India, he had completed the fastest 5000 runs scoring a century. The 33-year-old Warner has hinted that he may soon say goodbye to T20 cricket. Warner has said such a thing because of the continuous T20 World Cup.

Warner said, 'If you talk about T20 International, then we have to play the World Cup continuously. This is one of the reasons why T20 can be a format that I can quit.'

The Australian opener said of playing in all three formats, "I have to look at the schedule, it will be very difficult for me to play in all three formats. I would like to wish all the players who want to play in all three formats. If you talk about AB de Villiers and Virender Sehwag, they have done so for a long time. It was a difficult task for them too. " He further added, "It is always difficult to travel continuously, leaving three young children and a wife alone at home. If it comes to leaving one format, I would probably say goodbye to T20 International."
