The Indian women's football team has continued to perform well at the 13th Asian Games. In the second match of this tournament, the Indian women's team defeated Sri Lanka by a big margin of 6–0. This was the second consecutive win of the Indian women's football team. In this match, India scored two goals each by Sandhya Ranganathan (10th and 25th minute) and Ratanbala Devi (18th and 88th minute) while Dangmei Grace (7th) and Bala Devi (90 + 1) scored one each. Defending champions India beat Maldives 5–0 in their first match on Tuesday.

India scored the first goal in the seventh minute while Ranjana Chanu's cross reached Dangmei Grace who did not make a mistake in scoring. After this, Sandhya scored with the help of Ratanbala, while in the 18th minute, a good coordination between these two players gave India a 3-0 lead. Another goal would have been scored in Ratanbala's name but her shot came back after hitting the goalpost which reached Grace. She moved the ball towards Sandhya who was successful in scoring the goal.

The Indian team kept control on the match even after that and kept Sri Lanka under pressure in the second half as well. Shortly before the end of the match, Ratanbala scored her second goal with the help of substitute Manisha. With the help of Linthoinngambi, who made it to the last ten team, Bala Devi scored the sixth goal for India in injury time. In this entire match, the Indian women's team completely dominated Sri Lanka. Although the Sri Lankan team tried to come back in the second half, but the difference between the goal and the pressure of scoring the goal seemed to be disintegrating. At the same time, India also won their first match by a big margin of 5–0.
