Sourav Ganguly can help in Resuming Cricket Ties Between India and Pakistan: Rashid Latif

Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif said that BCCI President Sourav Ganguly can play an important role in restoring the cricket ties between India and Pakistan. Latif also remembered few years old incident and said, 'Even in 2004, there was a lot of tension in the relationship between the two countries, but Sourav had prepared the players and the board for the tour of Pakistan'. Latif said, Ganguly can do this work once again. This is not the first time Latif has asked Dada for help. Even when Sourav became BCCI president, Latif appealed to him.

In an interview to a TV channel in Pakistan, Latif hoped that Sourav would take some steps for the betterment of cricket. The special thing is that Latif had opposed Sourav's initiative a few days ago in which Dada had talked about organizing a cricket tournament of four countries. He said, "If Sourav wants, cricket relations between India and Pakistan can be restored. PCB will need Ganguly's help for this. " Latif said that PCB's head Ehsan Mani and CEO Wasim Khan should contact Sourav. This will help Pakistan cricket a lot.

Team India won the ODI series 3-2 and the Test series 2-1 in the 2004 India's tour of Pakistan. Many teams almost stopped visiting Pakistan after the terrorist attack on Sri Lankan team in 2009. Last month, the Sri Lankan team played three T20 and two Test matches here.
