Sri Lanka Cricket Board has announced the 22-member squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against England. The first Test match will start on Thursday. At the same time, Veteran batsman Angelo Mathews, who missed his recent tour of South Africa due to a hamstring injury, has made a comeback to the Test team for a two-match home series against England.
The Test series was earlier postponed in March, as the England team returned home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, the first match under the ICC World Test Championship will be played from 14 to 18 January. At the same time, the second Test match between the two teams will take place from 22 to 26 January.
Sri Lanka’s bowling department:
Talking about Sri Lanka’s bowling department, the team has leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga, left-arm spinner Lasith Embuldeniya, offspinner Dilruwan Perera, and Sandakan to choose from. Apart from Lakmal and Kumara, other bowlers include left-armer Vishwa Fernando, Dushmantha Chameera and Asitha Fernando.
