Skullcandy JIB + Wireless Headphone Review: Good Audio Quality in Budget

Demand for wireless headphones is increasing in the Indian market. People are now preferring to take wireless headphones over wired headphones. But it is not easy to get a wireless headphone with good sound quality in the budget. Meanwhile, popular audio brand Skullcandy launched its JIB+ wireless headphones in the market recently. The company has priced it at Rs 2,499. However, it is currently being sold on Amazon for Rs 2,070. We have used this headphone for a long time and now we are going to tell you its review.

Design and Build Quality:

These headphones are completely made of rubber. Its neck band part is a bit wide. But its overall structure is much different than other neckbands. Its buttoned part is plastic. The remaining earbuds have been kept simple. Here the external flap of the extra grip is given. This allows the grip to sit properly, but earbuds are not able to get inside the ears in a better way. This affects the sound quality. In such a situation, for better sound quality, I suggest removing this flap. Overall, its look is not impressive. You will be very upset to carry it, because its neckband part is also directly like wire, so there is a lot of trouble in adjustment. Apart from this, the wire is very long and magnets have not been provided to connect the earbuds. The lack of magnets causes the earbuds to remain separate and difficult to handle. Since there is no magnet, the magnets allow only the matter of the switch. However, a good thing is that it is not heavy to carry in the neck.

Talking about the buttons, it has been in-line in the left-side wire itself. Here are three buttons. Apart from two volume rockers, there is a multi button in the middle. By holding it for three seconds, it turns on / off. Also, multi-button calls can be received and cut. By turning on and holding it for 5 seconds, it is ready for Bluetooth pairing. Here LED is given which starts blinking. Also, here is a micro USB port for charging. Bluetooth version 5.0 is used in this headphones. In such a situation, fast connectivity is available here. Apart from this, virtual assistant can also be activated with multi button here.

Talking about the volume rockers, the + sign brings up the volume and the – sign is the volume down and by holding them for 2 seconds the track can be previewed and next.

Performance:

Here we will talk about the audio output, calling and battery performance. First of all, let's talk about the audio output, so let us tell you here that the company has used 9mm drivers. Overall audio quality is quite balanced. We have used classical, psychedelic rock, jazz, rock, dubstep, EDM, BDM, metal, trance and folk with many genres and all the genres are quite good. High, Mids and Lows all notes are clear. However, there is a slight punch in the base and the sub base could have been a little better. Nevertheless, it can be ignored in terms of price. Overall tuning is quite good.

Talking about the battery, the company has claimed 6 hours and the company's claim justifies here. Talking about microphone, it is also better for calling. But in crowded places, you may get upset using it, because there is no passive noise cancellation here.

Decision:

Now the question is, should you buy it? So the answer is that if you want better audio quality in the budget then you can invest money in it. In terms of look and design, it has faded a bit. Buying it for sports activity might not be good either.
