In his statement to the police, Sharma said that after forwarding the cartoon, before 10 am on Friday, I received a call from a person who asked me the name and address of the house. Half an hour later, a person calling himself Kamlesh Kadam called and asked why I posted the cartoon.
Madan Sharma’s statement
Sharma said in the statement that I said that I have only forwarded Cartoon from one WhatsApp group to another. Then around 12 noon, an unknown person called me at the telephone number of my house and said that I should come to the society gate because he wants to talk to me.
The former naval officer told that when I reached the gate of the society, there were 8-10 people standing there. They asked me why I posted that cartoon on WhatsApp. I then told them that I had only forwarded from one group to another. But they did not listen to me and started beating me badly.
