Mumbai. The stock market set a second consecutive record on Thursday. The Sensex gained 183.96 points to close at 40,653.74. This is the record closing level. The Sensex intra-day also reached an all-time record level of 40,688.27.
The Nifty closed up 46 points at 12012.05. During trading was reached 12,021.40. The market gained momentum due to strong foreign and domestic signals.
16 out of 30 Sensex stocks and 30 out of 50 Nifty stocks closed up. 9 out of 11 sector indices were on the NSE. The metal index gained the most by 1.09%. On the other hand, the PSU Bank index was the biggest loser at 1.5%.
