Security forces killed two terrorists in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian on Sunday night. These include Lashkar-e-Taiba's top commander Ishfaq Dar alias Abu Akram. Dar was active in the Valley since 2017. He was earlier a police constable. In addition, he was facing several charges of murder. Although the terrorists killed were residents of Shopian.
IGP Vijay Kumar told that he had received information about the hiding of terrorists in the Chak Sadiq Khan area of Shopian. When the security forces were preparing, the terrorists started firing. In retaliation, both the terrorists were killed.
Earlier on July 17, two terrorists were killed in an encounter by security forces in the Danmar area of Srinagar. They were identified as Irfan and Bilal Ahmed and also he was associated with the Pakistan-based terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba. AK 47 rifles and 4 grenades were recovered from them. Kashmir IGP Vijay Kumar said that both the terrorists killed were local residents.
